...Flood Warning extended until late Saturday night...
The Flood Warning continues for
The Cimarron River near Ripley.
* until late Saturday night...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At  3:00 AM Thursday the stage was 19.9 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Forecast...The Cimarron River will continue rising and crest near
23.0 feet early Friday morning. The Cimarron River will fall below
flood stage late Saturday evening.
* Impact...At 23.0 feet...The Cimarron River valley in Payne County
is covered by flood depths averaging 6 feet...with very hazardous
currents. Floodwaters approach level seen in March 2004...and
agricultural lands...oil wells...and water wells located near the
river banks are inundated...from many hours before to many hours
after the crest passes Ripley.

The Flood Warning continues for
The Cimarron River near Guthrie.
* until Friday afternoon...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At  2:30 AM Thursday the stage was 17.8 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Forecast...The Cimarron River will rise above flood stage early
Thursday morning and crest near 20.1 feet early Thursday afternoon.
The Cimarron River will fall below flood stage late Friday morning.
* Impact...At 20.0 feet...Rural areas may overflow to depths
averaging about a foot...in Logan and Payne counties. U.S. Highway
77 north of Guthrie is impassable. Low-lying fields and oil wells
may be flooded or isolated for a few hours...by flows in cutoff
channels crossing the flood plain.
